: Zoe Yadira Saldana-Perego is an American actress born on June 19, 1978, in Passaic, New Jersey. She trained in ballet and jazz at ECOS Espacio de Danza Academy in the Dominican Republic before transitioning to acting. She has appeared in three of the six highest-grossing films of all time: Avatar (2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, in which she portrays Gamora. She is also widely known for her role as Neytiri in Avatar and as Uhura in the Star Trek reboot franchise. Saldana has appeared in Drumline, Pirates of the Caribbean, Colombiana, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the crime drama series Lioness.
