: Elizabeth Berkley is an American actress born on July 28, 1972, in Farmington Hills, Michigan. She trained at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre and became a household name as Jessie Spano in the beloved American sitcom Saved by the Bell (1989–1993). She subsequently starred in the controversial and cult-celebrated Paul Verhoeven film Showgirls (1995), in which she delivered an uninhibited and physically demanding lead performance that has been dramatically reappraised in the decades since its release. She has also appeared in The First Wives Club, Any Given Sunday, Roger Dodger, and Dancing with the Stars.
